Youth in Belize have a high incidence of cataracts and pterygium due to the intensity of the sun and lack of sunglasses. Henderson First UMC collected and delivered 860 pairs of sunglasses which will be distributed to the youth of Belize. Education in Belize at the high school level is not free and many of the parents of children attending Methodist High School in Belmopan, Belize, can’t afford the school fees. $1900.00 in scholarship money was provided to enable children to attend Methodist High School.
